  • 2025-2026 Season Update

We had another exciting year in The Carrot League. After many hard fought weeks of competition, six teams made it to the playoffs and six teams were thrust into the loser’s ladder. Here were the final standings for the regular season:

    1. Joey Crawford
    2. Steve Matza
    3. Tim Dyess
    4. Joe Reed
    5. John Sloan
    6. Andrew Salinas
    7. Ryne Easen
    8. Neil Eveld
    9. Jon Michael Matza
    10. Nate Nahmias
    11. John Crawford
    12. Grant Lippincott

And after the always entertaining and brutal playoffs, we have crowned a new Champion, Rabbit, and Carrot. Here’s the results:

    Champion: Tim Dyess

    Rabbit: John Crawford

    Carrot: Ryne Easen

Tim joins the ranks as only the third person in the league to have multiple league championships, along with Joe Reed and Andrew Salinas. Ryne and John being in costume again is like putting on your favorite t-shirt – it fits just right and you can’t remember how many times it has happened.

The Carrot Race will be held on July 18, 2026 in Denver, CO. We hope to see you there! For more information, click here

  • another season in the books

Well, despite our intention to provide weekly updates for our valued readers this year, a whole season has passed by without a word from us. It was close fought, but in the end there can only be one Champion, This year, it was Joe. He is the first multiple time winner. There may be some who ascribed an asterisk to his victory in the COVID-shortened 2020 campaign, but this season should remove all doubt. He is well and truly a great in this league.

On the other side of the coin, we have the Carrot and the Rabbit. Those duties fall to Nate and JM, respectively. I’m sure they will do their best in the race, but regardless of their effort it will be a great time seeing them in costume on the mean streets of Houston, TX.

The race will be on 3/16 this year – that’s right, it’s the Saturday that most people who still have a functioning liver will choose to celebrate St. Paddy’s on. There are many changes afoot in the lives of Carrot League members and it’s the best we can do. It should be a really good time with a larger-than-typical crowd to witness the shenanigans. We hope to see you all there.
